Sauna, post office and laundry
The sauna facilities serving the whole area were situated on the top floor, and the laundry on the ground floor. The post office was situated in a separate wooden wing building. In 1953 the building was extended and the balcony was demolished. The post office wing was demolished in the 1980s.

The sauna, laundry and post office of Valliniemi are now known as Aallon Maja
In the 1980s the Sunila company sold the building to an entrepreneur that operated a sauna, laundry and lodging business under the name “Aallon maja”. After being left empty for some years, the hostel was revived and functioned until 2017. The city of Kotka bought the area in 2023.
